Water borehole & blast hole drilling
Hard ground is the whole job.
Three decades of water borehole and blast hole drilling across India, and since 2022 in Ghana and the DRC. Two disciplines, one competence: an accurate hole in difficult rock, a long way from anywhere.
Capabilities
Two disciplines, one contracting business.
Water and rock ask for different rigs, crews, and tolerances. We run both — which means the mobilisation, the spares, and the people are already in country.
Water borehole drilling
We take the full sequence rather than the drilling alone, and hand over a completed borehole with a tested yield figure you can design a scheme around.
- Hydrogeological siting and geophysical survey
- Mud rotary and down-the-hole hammer drilling
- Casing, screen installation, and gravel packing
- Development, test pumping, and yield certification
- Pump installation and handover documentation
- Typical depth
- 40–120 m
- Diameter
- 150–300 mm
- Method
- Rotary / DTH
Blast hole drilling
Track-mounted DTH rigs on contract or per-metre terms, drilling to the pattern your blast design calls for — with hole deviation held inside tolerance so your fragmentation stays predictable.
- Production drilling to a specified pattern and bench height
- Pre-split and trim drilling for wall control
- Quarry and aggregate contract drilling
- Hole surveying and deviation reporting
- Per-metre or day-rate commercial terms
- Typical depth
- 6–30 m
- Diameter
- 89–165 mm
- Method
- Track DTH
Where we work
India, Ghana, and the DRC.
India is where the business was built and where engineering and procurement still sit. Ghana and the DRC are newer — our first contracts outside India, both opened in 2022.
India
Where the business was founded and where it drilled exclusively for three decades. Engineering, procurement, rig refurbishment, and equipment support for the whole group still run from here.

Ghana
One of our two first contracts outside India, opened in 2022. Water borehole programmes for community and agricultural supply, alongside blast hole contracts for quarry and aggregate operators.

DR Congo
Opened alongside Ghana in 2022. Blast hole drilling for open-pit mining clients, with water borehole work supporting camp and process supply on the same sites.

In the field
Rigs, crews, and finished holes.
History
We began with our own fleet.
Apex started in 1992 as a logistics business, running our own trucks and moving freight across India. Three decades of that is why we think about mobilisation before we think about metres — getting a rig onto a remote site on schedule is a haulage problem long before it is a drilling one.
- 1992
Founded as a logistics business
An owned fleet of trucks moving general freight across India.
- [Year]
Into water borehole drilling
The move from moving goods to sinking boreholes, backed by the fleet and workshop we already ran.
- 1992–2021
Three decades across India
Water borehole programmes for community, agricultural, and municipal supply, run entirely from our Indian base.
- 2022
First African contracts
Our first projects outside India open in Ghana and the DRC in the same year — the group's first work on the continent.
- Today
Two disciplines, three countries
Track-mounted blast hole drilling joins the water borehole business, serving mining and quarry clients alongside water supply.
